DFA & Quality Control

IN-HOUSE DFA SERVICES

At Grower Direct Nut we have an in-house Department of Food and Agriculture of California office that is always on hand to take random representative samples from finished product and perform a quality inspection. After passing this meticulous process the product is then released with the DFA stamp of approval.

IN-HOUSE QUALITY CONTROL & LAB

Along with our DFA office, we have our own Quality Control department. QC takes random product samples and brings them to our innovative lab where they complete physical testing, environmental testing, microbiology testing, and chemistry testing to ensure a thoroughly clean and safe product to consume. These tests are for internal quality purposes as well as customer specification purposes.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

Physical tests are for color and size grades as well as percent halves and product defects to confirm our technology and processes are running at an optimum level.

ENVIRONMENTALS

Environmental tests are pulled every week to ensure our sanitation is effective. In addition, we also pull monthly air and water tests.

MICROBIOLOGY

At the most basic level, we run micro tests for yeast, mold, E. coli, and salmonella however, we have the capabilities to also test for listeria, staph, coliform and more.

CHEMISTRY

The main focus for chemical testing is moisture levels. We are also are able to test for Free Fatty Acids (FFA), Peroxide Value (PV), and Aflatoxins upon request.
